Add wordpress contact form to your Blog

Contact form is an essential element for any blog. If there is no contact us section in your blog then surely you have done a great mistake. This tutorial will let you learn about adding a WordPress contact form to your WordPress self hosted blog. By adding a contact form you are giving your users, readers and the advertisers an opportunity to reach directly to your email box. Any one will be able to drop a direct email to your inbox and you will also not get into any sort of hassle of revealing your email address.

I will use a very famous plugin Contact Form 7 for this purpose, there are a lot of customization options available with this plugin.

Adding a Contact form to WordPress Blog:

Login to you WordPress Blog & Install the Plugin:

First of all you will need to login to your wordpress dashboard and then in the “Plugins” menu click on “Add New“. Search for “Contact Form 7” there and then simply install and activate the plugin.

After Installing go to Contact Form Seven Menu:

After you have insalled and activated the plugin just go to the contact form seven menu, which must have started to appear in the dashboard menu of your wordpress.

There you can add a new form, also there is a default form created once you install the plugin, for that form just click on “Contact Forms” and there you will be taken to this screen:

You will need copy this shortcode, which is shown in the screenshot.

Add Contact Form to the Blog:

You have copied the code of the contact form now, you can also customize the contact form as per your needs, you can add another email address. Plus, you can define new fields. For any sorts of tweaks you can always click on the edit in the above screen as shown in the screenshot.

Let’s add the default contact form. You have copied the shortcode of your contact form, go to Add New Page in the “Pages” menu. There write the name of your new page to be “Contact Me“. In the post editor click on the HTML and then paste that shortcode. Simply publish the page and then add the link of the page to the “Appearance>> Menus“.

Visit the page “Contact Me” and send a test email for testing the contact form. The contact form will send that email to your wordpress admin email address. You can add as many contact forms as you may like using the contact form seven. It is really a handy tool for all the bloggers who want to quickly add a contact form to their wordpress blogs.
